Bee Pollen Recipes- Learning How To Exploit A Great Ingredient

There are not that many bee pollen recipes around and the reason is very simple. Given that it contains the perfect mix of vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids and minerals, there is no need to cook it or boil it at all. That is why most of the recipes are just for smoothies and adding it to other mixes.

Fruit And Bee Pollen - A Great Combination!

 Bee Pollen and Digestion.

Another reason why we should add bee pollen raw to all the recipes is that it is already the perfect digestion aid. That is because the pollen contains an inverted sugar that does not ferment in the intestines. It also can soothe the intestine and is a sort of natural lubricant as well. Most people find that it is a great help when constipated because the natural lubricant action combined with the  natural fatty acids encourages peristalsis. Other people have found the opposite effect when they take large doses of bee pollen as it can be a great laxative.

Bee Pollen Recipes.

Here are my three favorite bee pollen recipes. I use these when I find that munching away at bee pollen granules is pretty boring.  It is no harm at all to jazz up the taste and why not?

Recipe No. 1.

3 pieces of fruit of your choice which should be ripe. Try bananas and prunes or apricots when in season.

One tablespoon of flax seeds which are grounded

A few drops of fresh lemon juice

Half a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice.

One tablespoon of honey

One tablespoon of bee pollen granules.

Just blend all these together and you can get a smoothie which is a great snack or breakfast meal in itself so that you can forget about unhealthy cereals or milk, just in case you are lactose intolerant.  You can also substitute the orange juice with soya milk and so on. There is no limit to your imagination here.

There are variations of this which could run to several hundred pages. One variation of these bee pollen recipes is in the video below which also uses maca. However this is not recommended for young kids under fourteen years of age.

 Recipe No. 2

This is another one of the great bee pollen recipes for breakfast and for setting you up for the day.

2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt or your favourite healthy brand

350 ml of water or milk/rice milk/soya and a mixture if you prefer

50 grs of oatmeal

One teaspoon or tablespoon of bee pollen

One tablespoon of your favourite honey.

You need to boil the mixture of oatmeal with the milk for about 5 minutes.  You then add that mixture to the honey, yogurt and pollen. Find a healthier breakfast snack!

Recipe No. 3.

Here I like to use mandarins with the white piths left intact although I do actually peel them, you will be relieved to know! That white pith contains bioflavonoids which are great for strengthening our capillaries. That means a healthier delivery system for getting blood, nutrients and oxygen to all our vital organs.

2 bananas

One tablespoon of bee pollen

One slice of lemon with the peel left intact

One piece of ginger

2 cups of water

Blend these and enjoy this rather unusual tasting smoothie .

These then are just a few bee pollen recipes but if you want a quick and easy bee pollen supplement to take on an everyday basis, why not check out what is easily the best value on the market to-day as regards the quality price ratio.
