Bee Pollen Dangers- Taking Emergency Action To Save Our Planet
The only real bee pollen dangers are not from the substance itself or any side effects of bee pollen, but from the way it is processed and manufactured and the environment in which the bees work. Very often, these areas in the world are now so polluted that the bees themselves are dying off! I am thinking of areas like China and Asia and many other countries where pollution levels are quite high, even in the countryside.
Safety Regulations To Guarantee Bee Pollen Purity
The bee pollen dangers are most evident when there are no procedures or safety regulations which can take care of the following problems:
- Bee pollen is heat dried
- No precautions taken to eliminate contaminants such as heavy metals
- No regulations are in place as regards additives to the actual pollen or honey products.
The lack of these precautions may well affect the shelf life of bee pollen
Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)
Another interesting insight has come to light in that the bee colonies are dying off because there are threats from the environment which they cannot cope with at all. The decline has been so dramatic that even the UN has sat up and taken notice for a change! There is actually a term for this now which is ‘colony collapse disorder’ (CCD). The problem has a name!
They have actually said that the writing is on the wall because they realize that as bees are responsible for about 70% of pollination of plants worldwide, then any decline or destruction of this pollinating force would spell the end for mankind. We cannot do without the honey bees. They are industrious but they have been killed off because of a lack of foresight and carelessness as regards the environment.
Bee pollen dangers do not come from the pollen itself , except in the case of a rare and very severe allergic reaction. Or there could be problems where too much bee pollen is taken. The real dangers are those posed by mankind and the ruining of our planet. These dangers are :-
- toxins
- peticides
- herbicides
- fungicides
- climate change
- GM microbes
It is ironic to think that the world’s only superfood is now under a dramatic threat and there is no end in sight.
The Honeybees Are Fighting Back
There is however some good news in that the honey bee itself is taking precautions where they are sealing off the hive cells and actually quaranteeing the polluted pollen so that it does not destroy the whole colony.
This is an example of how industrious and ingenious these insects are. Unfortunately this has not prevented the colonies from dying but there is hope that the bee will adapt to the new environment and we, our planet and our food will be saved!
Let’s do our part in saving the planet by avoiding bee pollen dangers such as checking the quality of what we are buying and making sure that we have not damaged our planet in any way.
